In one lifetime you will have taken enough steps to carry you round the world...
Sand Pilot is a project about walking.
It is part digital project, part installation, a book and a very famous walk.
Made in collaboration with Cedric Robinson, the Queen's official guide to the sands, the project uses the sands of Morecambe Bay and the famous cross bay walk as the backdrop to the work.
Inspired and created from the guide's history, the story of the walk and the bay itself, as well as personal and unique stories, Invisible Flock invite you to join us for one of four special walks as part of the wider project exploring how and why we walk and the journeys we take in our lives.
We would like to invite you to become part of the project by walking with us for 8 miles from Arnside to Grange over Sands. These four unique walks, guided by Cedric Robinson, will be part of an intimate exploration and portrait of walking.
Commissioned by Live at LICA, supported by Arts Council England and Lancashire County Council.
Virtual Lancaster have put together a useful pdf of important safety notes when crossing Morecambe Bay.
A percentage of your ticket price will go to Cedric's chosen charity.

Booking & Important Information
Walks are on the 8,10,22 & 24 September 2012 at various times (see below).
The whole event, which includes the walk across the bay, will last around six hours. The walk ends by Kents Bank railway station, so is NOT a round trip. However, we will provide you with a train ticket back to the starting point of the walk (or if you are driving, you can park at the end point and take the train to Arnside in time for the start of the walk).
Tickets are available online or via Morecambe VIC: 01524 582808. Tickets can be picked up at the starting point of the walk, and do not need to be collected at Live at LICA.
Please ensure you provide a valid email address so we can provide you with the latest information the night before the event: be aware that extreme weather conditions may mean we have to cancel or reschedule your walk.
Please bring a mobile phone with you on the walk.
The meeting point is in Arnside, under the flagpole on the pier.
Please bring your own suncream, food and drink (a flask of something warm will be handy).
Wear old trainers (NOT wellies) and dress according to the weather forecast (bear in mind that it can be quite chilly and windy on the bay).
For further details, email [email protected] or [email protected]
Online booking for each walk will close at 4pm the evening before the walk.
