Finding Us & Parking
Live at LICA is sited at the north end of the Lancaster University. The campus is easily accessible by all means of travel and is within 70 miles of Manchester's International Airport

Leave the M6 motorway at junction 33 and take the A6 north towards Lancaster. For Lancaster University main campus – turn right at the third set of traffic lights on the A6 into the University main drive. Take the first exit left from the roundabout at the top of the main drive, continue straight on past two avenues on your right and park in Visitor Car Park A on the north west drive.
Visitor parking is available including wheelchair accessible spaces. Parking charges, across the entire campus, only apply weekdays before 6pm.
The nearest visitor parking zone for Live at LICA is Visitor Parking Zone A on the north west drive. To access this zone, take the first exit at the main roundabout and then continue forward for a hundred yards – the parking spaces are then located on each side of the road. Continue along the ring road to access other parking areas across campus.
Blue Badge holders should either park in Bowland Avenue or next to the LICA building.
For weekday parking there are pay and display machines sited in the Visitor Parking Zones, alternatively parking scratchcards can be bought at the Reception lodge. For further details on parking and weekday charges please see Lancaster University's visitor parking page.
There are direct rail links between Lancaster and London, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Oxford and major cities in Scotland. The X1 bus service runs between the Railway Station and the University every 20 minutes Mon - Sat daytimes and hourly on Sunday afternoons and evenings. Taxis are also available from outside the station. Lancaster Railway Station is a 5 minute walk away from the city centre.

Buses arrive and depart from the University's underpass. We are a short 5 minute walk from the underpass.

In the City: The bus station is situated on Damside Street in the City Centre. Buses (services 2, 2A, 3, 4, X4, 42) leave for the University every five minutes on weekdays and most services also stop at Common Garden Street. Additionally, the 4 and X4 bus services run every 20 minutes between the Railway Station and the University (hourly on Sunday afternoons and evenings).
On Campus: All buses drop off and collect passengers in the Underpass, situated underneath Alexandra Square.

Lancaster is a Cycling Demonstration Town which means it is benefitting from increased investment in facilities and initiatives for cyclists. It takes 20 - 30 minutes to cycle from the city centre to campus. An off-road cycle route runs from Whinfell Drive in Hala and enters the campus near Bailrigg House. A further off-road signed cycle route runs along the Lancaster Canal to the city centre.
